In this live-taught online course, you will learn the step-by-step process to plan, design, create, and publish your first branded business book!

  • ✺ Week 1

    The Vision!

In our kick-off session, we’ll spend a bit of time getting to know each other and then start building the vision for your amazing book!

By the end of the session you will have clarity on who your book is for, what their main pain points are, and what the outcome is that you want them to have as a result of reading your book.

And we’ll cover off what the main types of low-content books are, so you’ll also have a good idea of the best type of book you want to create.

We will also get started on exploring the key elements of designing, creating, and self-publishing your passion project book.

  • ✺ Week 2

    Creating Your Book Cover:

This week you will learn all about making a beautiful and Amazon-ready book cover in Canva (the free version of this is fine by the way).

You'll discover how to create different sizes of book cover, using your brand colours logo and fonts, how to bring in graphic elements to make it look as attractive as possible to your client, and how to make sure that your layout is optimised for printing.

By the end of the session, You’ll have started making your book cover!

  • ✺ Week 3

    Interior Pages Part One:

Every good book has a beginning, a middle, and an end (yes, even low-content books!), so this week we'll start exploring how to build the structure of your book in the easiest way possible.

We’ll also take a look at where you can find the best free and low cost interior templates that you can use in your book, plus how to start building your own bespoke pages from scratch.

You’ll also leave this session with a clear plan for the best way to structure your book.

  • ✺ Week 4

    Interior Pages Part Two:

This week is a deep dive into how to create the best looking and most easy-to-use interior pages for your clients.

You'll learn how to select the most attractive and functional graphic elements for your pages, the dos and don’ts for optimal layout, and how to ensure that your pages are really reader-friendly. We’ll also take a deeper dive into best practice for planners and trackers.

By the end of this session you will have got your first interior pages created!

  • ✺ Week 5

    Interior Pages Part Three:

Wait, another week talking about interior pages? Yes! Here's why...

This is the week where we make sure your interior pages look as BEAUTIFUL as possible, with a particular focus on fonts, graphic elements, colours, inks, and the difference that choosing ‘bleed’ versus ‘no bleed’ print setting makes (don’t worry, it will all become clear!).

We'll also take a closer look at best practise for creating journals and workbooks, and some of the different style choices you might want to make for these.

By the end of this session you'll really be finessing your interior pages!

  • ✺ Week 6

How to Get Set up and Publish on Amazon KDP

In this session, you will learn all about how to use Amazon KDP as your publisher and printer, and the main rules and guidelines to ensure a smooth experience. We’ll set up our Amazon KDP accounts (all for free – hurrah!), and we’ll walk through the three-stage publishing process so you’re really clear on how it works, and what settings to choose.

We will also use the cover you created in week two, and some interior pages you downloaded in week three to ACTUALLY PUBLISH A BOOK!

    No way?

    Way!!

By the end of this session you will have published your first product – a branded notebook! Whilst this isn’t the *main event* (your passion project business book), it gives you great practice in going through the publishing process!

  • ✺ Week 7

    Marketing Your Beautiful Book

So once you've built your fabulous new business book, how on earth do you market it?

In week seven you will learn all about A+ content which is one of the key ways of marketing your book on Amazon.

This much underused (and importantly FREE) marketing tool is one of the best ways that you can help your target client to know that your book is for them, and it’s SUPER-EASY!

By the end of this session you will have created your first A+ marketing content for your book, and have discovered how to use the keywords that your clients are using when they search on Amazon. I’ll also show you a little-known way to track and compare your book ranking on Amazon!

  • ✺ Week 8

    Bringing it all together

    It’s our last week! (Noooooooooo!)

In our final session together, we’ll review what we’ve learnt over the last seven weeks, and we’ll have an open-floor Q&A session to make sure that you have ALL the information you need to finish creating and publishing your book.

We’ll also spend a bit of time creating your ‘Published Author’ plan, where you design your timelines, next steps and what support you need to get your fabulous book out into the world!

We might even see whether we want to pair into accountability pods to support each other through the publishing journey.

  • But that's not all!

The extras that you will get as part of this course are:

    1. A six-month pop-up Facebook group to get all the support, encouragement, help, and accountability that you need

    2. A printable, week-by-week course workbook including key information and links
